Curriculum vitae

Philipp Kerler is a PhD candidate at the chair of Political Economy and Development. He received his master’s degree in economics at Uni Konstanz in 2018. His master’s thesis included original data collection and fieldwork on female empowerment and land ownership in South India. Philipp has vast experience in teaching, starting as a TA in mathematics for economics during his undergraduate studies in Konstanz. Currently at IPZ, he lectures on Public Choice and Development Politics and Economics. Moreover, he teaches a seminar on Risk Preferences and Development. His research interest lies at the intersection of political economy and development. In his dissertation he analyses the political and social effects of disruptive events.
