Florian Schaffner is joining the Department of Political Science at the University of Zurich as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Chair of Comparative Politics of Professor Lucas Leemann in fall 2022. He is about to earn a DPhil (Doctor of Philosophy) in Politics from the University of Oxford. His research interests surround political behavior, political psychology, affective polarization, empathy, and direct democracy, which he studies using surveys, experiments, and machine learning. He holds an MSc in Comparative Politics from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a Bachelor in Social Sciences from the University of Zurich.
