Michael A. Strebel is a postdoctoral researcher at the Chair of Democracy and Public Governance. Michael A. Strebel studied Political Science and History at the University of Zurich, where he received his Master's degree in 2014. He wrote his dissertation as part of a project of the NCCR "Challenges to Democracy in the 21st Century". In his dissertation he analyzes citizens’ attitudes towards institutional reforms in eight Western European metropolitan regions. While working on his dissertation, he spent research stays at the University of Mannheim and the University of British Columbia (Vancouver). His additional research subjects include local government mergers and democratic legitimacy perceptions.
