Sujeong Shim is a postdoctoral fellow at the Chair of International Relations and Political Economy. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin - Madison in June 2021. Her research interests lie at the intersection of international political economy, international organizations, and domestic politics. Currently, she is working on a book manuscript based on her dissertation, which investigates how international investors evaluate the credibility of governments that participate in International Monetary Fund (IMF) programs. In other projects, she studies, for example, the political determinants of trade disputes and the political consequences of U.S. currency swap arrangements. Sujeong also has enthusiasm for and extensive experience with teaching. Sujeong won the University's Ph.D. Capstone Teaching Award in 2020 for outstanding teaching performance throughout her Ph.D. studies.
