Michael Pinggera is a PhD student at the Chair for Swiss Politics and Comparative Political Economy. He studied political science and economics at the University of Zurich (2012-2017) and worked as a research assistant between 2015 and 2017. His dissertation is part of the ERC-funded project "Welfare Priorities" under the direction of Prof. Silja Häusermann. The dissertation analyzes today's welfare state policy with a focus on the policy of social investment. Michael is particularly interested in the determinants of social investment priorities and their impact on party political welfare policies.
