Magdalena Breyer is a PhD candidate at the Department of Political Science. She completed her M.A. in Political Science at the Freie Universität Berlin, after studying in Freiburg and Krakow. During her studies, she worked at the research unit for Methods of Empirical Social Research at the FU Berlin and at the Chair for Comparative Politics in Freiburg.

Her PhD research, situated in an SNF project led by Tarik Abou-Chadi, is investigating the link between social status losses and radical right voting, with a focus on the fields of gender and immigration. Further, she is interested in the program, strategy and election of populist parties and their effects on mainstream parties.
