Lukas Haffert is a post-doctoral researcher at the chair for Swiss politics and comparative political economy. He was a doctoral researcher at the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies in Cologne from 2010-2014. After that, he spent a year as Max Weber Fellow at the European University Institute in Florence. He was a visiting researcher at Georgetown University and at the International Monetary Fund. He holds a master's degree in economics from the University of St Gallen. His dissertation has been awarded the Otto Hahn Medal for outstanding scientific achievements by the Max Planck Society and the German Thesis Award by the Körber Foundation.
