Born 1986 in Cologne. 2006-2011 studied political science, philosophy, and German literature and language at the University of Cologne. 2009 Research Internship at the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies, Cologne. 2011-2014 Doctoral Researcher in the project “The Politics of Education and Training Reforms in Western Welfare States“ at the Chair of Prof. Marius Busemeyer at the University of Konstanz. 2013 Visiting Fellow at the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, Harvard University. 2014 PhD at the University of Konstanz, dissertation topic “The Political Economy of Higher Education Finance: A Comparative Analysis of the Politics of Tuition Fees and Subsidies“. 2014 awarded the ESPAnet/JESP Doctoral Researcher Prize. Since 2014 Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Konstanz, since 2015 in the project “Investing in Education in Europe: Attitudes, Politics and Policies (INVEDUC)” funded by a ERC-Starting Grant. Since February 2016 Julian Garritzmann holds a Dual Affiliation as Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Konstanz and as Senior Researcher (Oberassistent) at the Chair of Swiss politics and comparative political economy of Prof. Silja Häusermann.
