PhD position in environmental economics and politics (CEE/ZHAW & UZH)
We offer a PhD position at the Centre of Energy and the Environment (CEE) at ZHAW. The CEE was founded in 2017 with a research focus on energy and climate economics and policy as well as electricity market design. CEE is part of the Swiss Competence Centre for Research in Energy, Society and Transition (SCCER CREST) and is leading the SNIS project “Designing Effective Regulation for Carbon Markets at the International, National, and Subnational Level” in collaboration with the University of Zurich. The SNIS project will start in January 2019 and includes among others an empirical analysis of the behaviour of different players in carbon markets.
We offer a direct start of your own Ph.D. research, comprehensive advice within a multidisciplinary research team of the SNIS project and the opportunity to develop a strong research profile. You will have access to an outstanding network of environmental and political economists at ZHAW and UZH and you will present your results at national and international conferences. You will also attend the Graduate School at the Faculty of Philosophy at UZH with limited core courses and a large variety of electives that can be chosen targeted to your doctoral research, including the possibility to participate in summer schools and courses of other departments (e.g. the doctoral program in Economics). An open and collaborative atmosphere within the team at CEE and at UZH is waiting for you.
