Deborah Kalte received her Bachelor’s degree in International Relations at the University of Geneva in 2012. She finished her Master’s degree in Political Science at the University of Zurich in 2014. After her studies, she spent three months as an intern at the Swiss embassy in Romania and subsequently worked for the Migration office in Zurich. Deborah Kalte reentered academia in 2017 and became a PhD candidate at the Centre for Democracy Studies Aarau (ZDA), involved in the research project “Political Consumerism in Switzerland” (project leaders: Prof. Dr. Daniel Kübler and Dr. Birte Gundelach, funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation). Her doctoral thesis is focusing on veganism, considered the most pronounced form of political consumerism.
