Curriculum vitae

Hannah is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Political Science at the University of Zurich and the Center for Democracy Studies in Aarau. Her research focuses broadly on citizens´ attitudes towards democracy, in particular on the topics of democratic innovation, perceived legitimacy and the consequences of climate change for democratic attitudes.

Before joining the IPZ, Hannah worked as a postdoctoral fellow of the Research Foundation Flanders (BE) on the project “Climate Change and the Legitimacy Challenge” and as a postdoctoral researcher in the LEGIT research group at the University of Leuven. She obtained her PhD in 2020 from the University of Amsterdam and the University of Leuven for her dissertation “Pragmatic Citizens. A Bottom-Up Perspective on Participatory Politics”.

Hannah currently serves as the Co-Chair of the ECPR Standing Group on Democratic Innovation and is the Co-founder and organizer of the NEXT GDC conference for early career scholars in deliberation research.
