6th Swiss Summer School Democracy Studies on „Politics and Democracy in the Digital Age”

The Doctoral Program Democracy Studies at the University of Zurich is pleased to announce the 6th Swiss Summer School in Democracy Studies 2019 on „Politics and Democracy in the Digital Age”. It will be held at the University of Lucerne, 24-28 June 2019. 

The 2019 Summer School brings together young scholars from all over the world with a common interest in both, substantive and methodological innovations caused and enabled by digitalization in politics and science. In more detail, participants will learn more about intersections between digitalization and democratic theory, political attitudes and behavior, political polarization, campaigning and social media. In addition, all participants will have the unique opportunity to discuss their research projects in small groups and with well-known international experts from their field. 

The Summer School is open to doctoral students, advanced master students and postdoctoral researchers worldwide from political science, media and communication science, political philosophy, and related disciplines. Please note: Participation is limited to 20 participants. 

A certificate and 3 ECTS will be awarded to each participant successfully completing the School. The deadline of application is 1 March 2019 (apply here).
