PD Dr. Thomas Widmer, guest professor

The Chair of Swiss Politics was endowed in 1980 and was held by Professor Ulrich Klöti until 2006. In 2006, Professor Daniel Kübler took up the Chair ad interim until Professor Adrian Vatter was appointed to it on the 1st of February 2008 who held the chair until July 2009. Since August 2009 PD Dr. Thomas Widmer took over the chair as a guest professor. The research focus is on the analysis of political institutions, decision making processes, and selected policy areas at different levels of the Swiss federal state.
