Livia Isabella Schubiger is a postdoctoral researcher at the chair for international relations and political economy and the chair for political methodology. She recently defended her dissertation on the consequences of indiscriminate state violence in civil wars at the University of Zurich; the thesis was awarded summa cum laude/highest honors (committee: Dieter Ruloff, UZH; Lars-Erik Cederman, ETHZ; Stathis Kalyvas, Yale; Elisabeth Wood, Yale). From January 2010 to June 2011, Livia was a pre-doctoral visiting fellow at the Program on Order, Conflict, and Violence at Yale University (New Haven, CT, USA). While at Yale, her dissertation research was supported by the Zurich University Alumni Association and the Swiss National Science Foundation. During one of her research stays in Peru, Livia was a short-term visiting scholar at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (Lima, Peru), supported by the `Fakultäres Mentoring II’ program at UZH.
