Macarena Ares is a post-doctoral researcher at the chair for Swiss politics and comparative political economy. Between 2013 and 2017 she was a doctoral researcher at the European University Institute. Her doctoral research focuses on the link between social class and political preferences and behavior in post-industrial societies. She holds a Master’s degree in Political Science from Pompeu Fabra University and the University of Konstanz, and a BA from Pompeu Fabra University. Macarena’s main research interests are in political sociology, electoral politics and public opinion. Her work has been published in Comparative European Politics, the Journal of European Public Policy and Research and Politics.
